PUPILS at Whitehill Junior School had a Dickens of a time dressing up as Victorians for the day.
After learning about the era last term, staff and children from Year 5 decided to try out Victorian school life.
The children wore authentic costumes and covered their faces with "grime", while teachers marked their work with quills and ink.
Teacher Lesley Harries said: "The kids have been absolutely superb and it was very difficult being as horrible with them as they were in those days."
