Wimbledon face title-chasing Wolves at Selhurst Park this Saturday and will be looking to improve on their performances against Barnsley and Walsall.

Kevin Coopers goal, four minutes from time, rescued a point for Terry Burtons men last Saturday after Bruce Dyer had given the Tykes the lead seven minutes into the second half.

Then on Tuesday night David Connolly twice put Wimbledon into the lead at Selhurst Park only to see Walsall haul themselves back into the game to take a point.

Midfielder Michael Hughes believes the Dons deserved a share of the spoils on Saturday and said: You always have to be happy with a point away from home. But the manager was not very pleased with the defending that led to their goal. It could have been better, but I think a draw was a fair result.

Hughes praised the performance of Kelvin Davis, who kept Wimbledon in the game with a string of fine saves.

Hes a great goalkeeper, said Hughes. He was excellent and deserves all the praise and respect he gets.

A plus point for Wimbledon was the debut of their new Swedish international midfielder Hakan Mild, who replaced Andy Roberts in the starting line-up.

Mild, 30, completed his tran-sfer from IFK Gothenburg last week and has signed a one-and-a-half year contract.

But the future for 27-year-old Roberts looks uncertain after being dropped from the squad. He is out of contract at the end of the season and looks set to move to another club.

Damien Francis is set for a place on the substitutes bench for the third successive game this Saturday after returning from major knee surgery, while Mark Williams and Neal Ardley are close to a recall to the squad after recovering from their injuries.
