I know that one can drive oneself to one's wit's end dealing with the eccentricities of public transport, particularly if you get the feeling they might not know where they're going.
Thank you to Iris Parfitt for pointing out in your letters pages the mysterious Whitmore Road bus stop in Whitehorse Lane.
I have been by bus to see the stop. As Iris Parfitt points out there is no Whitmore Road in Croydon. The nearest Whitmore Road to us is in Beckenham.
I have asked Transport for London for the sign to be corrected to read Whitworth Road.
It is not as comic as the Alexandra Palace sign in Davidson Road but let's see whether this second oddity gets changed.
