ARMED robbers pointed a gun at a mother and her seven-year-old child during a raid on a curtain shop.
Two men burst into Needles and Pins curtain shop in Uxbridge Road, Hayes at 4pm on Monday (Nov 19) and aimed the one-and-a-half inch barrell gun at the child while demanding cash from the shopkeeper.
The first man held the child's upper clothing while pointing the gun and making threats, forcing the owner to hand cash over to the second suspect.
After also taking money from the woman's handbag, they then fled the scene towards Gledwood Drive.
The suspects had entered the premises 10 minutes before the incident, made some excuses and then left before returning. Police believe the first visit was to observe security measures.
The first suspect is described as a black male, mid 20s, slim, with a short Afro hairstyle and clean shaven.
The second is described as a mixed race male, mid 20s with a proportionate build, black hair and clean shaven.
"This was an appalling crime," said DC Andrew Eaton, at Barnes Flying Squad. "We urge anyone with information to contact a member of my team on 8247 7932."
