I am writing regarding the proposed new stadium for Barnet FC. Are you aware that the consultation period on the proposed football stadium has been extended to December 7 no doubt due to the strength of local feeling aroused by it?
The Green Belt that would be lost forever contains an existing field, cricket pitch and a row of mature oaks which have probably been around a lot longer than both cricket and football clubs.
Limited parking, as proposed by the plan, is naive if it really expects this to discourage people coming by car. Local roads will become even more congested as people try and find somewhere to park outside the stadium.
No-one has had the courtesy to talk to local residents. The vast majority of local people I have spoken to are vehemently opposed to the plan. We do appreciate the difficulties of Barnet FC but do not wish to sacrifice the Green Belt to appease them.
