PARENTS have until the end of this year to have their say on changes being proposed to current high school admissions arrangements.
Harrow Council has revealed that while the vast majority of parents and children obtain their preferred school place, some face receiving their second choice due to over-subscription.
Two options are being put forward for the consultation, which will end on December 31.
The first will maintain the current arrangements with no changes taking place between primary and high schools but this, officers have warned, will spell over-subscription, especially at Park High in Thistlecroft Gardens, Stanmore and Hatch End High in Headstone Lane.
An alternative model is to reduce the number of middle schools linked to Hatch End and Park High, and increase those which feed Harrow High School in Gayton Road.
Details of how to voice concerns on the system of links between primary and secondary schools are enclosed in 'Outlook', the magazine every pupil in Harrow takes home once a term.
More details are available from the Education Department, Civic Centre, public libraries and on www.harrow.gov.uk.
