STAFF at Biggin Hill Airport have been rewarded for their handling of the tragic crashes at last summer's air show by Transport Minister John Spellar. Handling agents, air traffic controllers and firefighters were presented with the commendation for outstanding professionalism and skill in dealing with the three accidents last June.
Mr Spellar said: "I highly commend not only the firefighters and ambulance services but all the airport's staff who worked so hard to deal with these accidents.
Airport director Peter Lonergan added: "We are proud to accept this high praise and I know it means a lot to the staff as it was a very difficult time for all."
