T5 Go-Ahead: Ann Keen, MP for Brentford and Isleworth, and Alan Keen, MP for Feltham and Heston, issued a joint statement after Mr Byers had finished his speech.
They said: "We welcome the end to the uncertainty that the prolonged decision-making process on the future of Terminal 5 has brought.
"The decision to allow BAA to build the new terminal was expected by all those involved. We will be studying the conditions specified by government over the next day or so and will then make our representations.
"Our constituents appreciate the tremendous economic benefits that Heathrow Airport brings to the area.
"There are serious environmental disadvantages, however, for those living in the London borough of Hounslow.
"In addition to the obvious problem of noise, there is the traffic congestion that the airport generates as well as the reduced air quality."
