A LEADING light in the business community was jailed on Friday and only released after her employers paid her bail.
Assistant chief executive of Gravesham Chamber of Commerce Heather Wilding took part in a "jail and bail" event for Children in Need.
Along with chief executive Graham Sawell, Dartford Mayor Councillor Tom Maddison and business people from the area, she was "nicked" in Gravesend and taken to Dartford Police Station.
Chief Inspector Colin Croucher and PC Mike Hunter joined in the fun, rattling the chains and handcuffs.
The "prisoners" were only released when more than £800 bail was paid to Children in Need. It is hoped to increase the total to £1,000 by the end of the week.
In another fundraising event, at Gravesend's Asda, Laura Robinson from The Hollies residential home, in Darnley Road, took to her bath for charity, only to find it filled with custard.
Staff from the supermarket also took part in a wheelchair push to Gravesend and Northfleet football club.
