Having viewed the article about Black History Month (News Shopper, November 14), I was surprised to learn no event took place in Penge or Anerley to mark the occaision, when this is where the largest number of black and minority ethnic people in Bromley live.
Why were so few black children taking part in the entertainment, when schools in this area are so rich in colourful and cultural diversity?
And, why were the programmes advertising the events which did take place distributed too late to allow people to attend many of the celebrations mentioned?
I received mine when the month was half over.
We have much to learn from other London boroughs, Croydon and Lewisham in particular, about inclusion.
What a wasted opportunity!
It was like International Women's Day all over again!
