Regarding the letter from Mrs Endacott about the shaming of the ASBO yob (News Shopper, November 14).
In reply I say great. I think they should be named and shamed and the public should be aware. How else are we going to stop the threat to our civil liberties by these thugs?
The police are impotent in many cases. My son had his phone stolen, in a lesson, at school, by a 15-year-old boy and was threatened with a knife attack.
It has taken the police a week to even take a statement or follow the incident up.
When we asked how to retrieve our stolen property we were told we were wasting our time. Beware everyone, there are plenty of adolescent thugs who have the law on their side or so it seems.
It also seems they are innocent even when proven guilty.
So, unless the law reclaims control of errant youths, there is no other option but to use the press. Thank you News Shopper.
