What have Cornwall and the Middle East got in common? On the face of it nothing at all, yet both have been captured by artist Caroline Mills, whose latest collection, From Padstow to Petra, goes on display at the Soane Studio, SW6 next week.
The Twickenham based artist's latest exhibition will bring them to you. Her careful but free translucent style captures the essence of the interminable changes on all these different landscapes.
It was Caroline's vision to open fellow artists' studios to the public. Thus Open Studios was created by her in Richmond, in 1996, a project which has been adopted by the borough and runs every year.
Caroline is also involved in the charity Paintings in Hospitals whereby more than 3,000 works donated by artists are loaned to hospitals across the country.
Her constant energy to paint draws her between her studios in Twickenham and Cornwall generating work for the Royal Academy, the Bankside Gallery and her 18 solo exhibitions to date.
From Padstow to Petra opens at the Soan Studio next Friday and for details call 020 8744 0452.
