A passionate love affair, a host of comic characters and a soundtrack assembled from the best of contemporary pop all feature in a new play coming to Wimbledon Studio Theatre.
Described as a romantic, feelgood piece, Sorry I Love You opens next week and is being staged by Sheffield's Rumpus Theatre. And although the plot revolves around a bunch of 30 somethings you can forget cheesy Friends type clichs.
In this sparkling comedy, Helen (Susan Earnshaw, above) falls head in love with the handsome Jools (Oliver Hume). But she doesn't want to come between Jools and his girlfriend Jane or does she?
An idle chat with a tramp in a caf sets Helen off on a rollercoaster courtship which takes the couple all over the world. But why does everyone she meets somehow remind Helen of the tramp?
The play is in complete contrast to the last Rumpus production at the Studio, the Pit And The Pendulum. And it proves the versatility of the company, which is one of the most promising in England.
Sorry, I Love You opens next Tuesday and for details see the listings. For your chance to bag free tickets, see panel right.
