A group of Southfields teenagers swapped south London for southern Spain on a council trip in the summer.
Members of the Westside Youth Club, based in Windlesham Grove, enjoyed the great outdoors when they visited Atajate, a mountain town in the Province of Malaga.
The group stayed for two weeks on the trip organised as part of the Wandsworth Council Summer Scheme.
The trip included visits to Ronda and Gaucin with its historical monuments, fruit picking in local orchards and swimming in the Genal Valley River. Other attractions included the prehistoric caves at La Pileta and the nature reserve of Sierra Las Nieves.
The group also forged close links with the local authorities and the trip ended with a handing over of souvenirs and gifts.
At the local mayor's suggestion, an exchange programme is currently being organised and staff from Westside are already planning next year's trip.
