Your article about ME and the attitude of the council highlights a serious situation whereby children with this illness are being short changed with their education.
Talk of recognising Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) but not ME illustrates the confusion and lack of understanding about this illness.
ME is actually classed as CFS by the medical profession and social services. But much time and effort is being lost in arguing about the name of the illness rather than trying to understand it.
We have produced a paper summarising diagnostic markers and patient examinations from leading doctors in the world treating ME/CFS. The paper entitled ME Why the mystery? is being sent to everyone locally involved. A free copy is available by telephoning, faxing or writing.
