TOTTENHAM MP David Lammy and popstar Peter Andr were among the special guests invited to the opening of a new £7,000 recording studio at Lea Valley Primary School.
Mr Lammy officially opened the studio in the presence of Haringey Mayor Cllr Mary Neuner .
The 16-track digital recording studio, funded by the Gifted and Talented initiative, which helps develop and support talented children in the borough, is a huge boost to the school's music department.
Members of the year five and six choir along with the school' s composing club performed songs during the morning assembly.
Even the special guests joined in the sing-song by recording the chorus of the Beatles tune, Let it Be, in the hi-tech studios.
The facility will enable the children to produce and package their own compact discs. The choir plan to make a recording to enter a local radio station Christmas carol competition.
Music teacher George Georgiou said: "The new studio will help raise musical awareness in the school and will give the children more opportunities. It was an excellent day for everyone at the school."
