I do hope that those of you who attended the Chislehurst Firework Display enjoyed yourselves.
As a long standing resident of Empress Drive I have seen and enjoyed the many functions that go on in the park like yourselves.
However, I think many of you will have noticed while arriving and leaving the park, the poor state of the road. (I hope none of you fell into the craters, if so you might still be there!)
Could the organisers of any events taking place in the park contribute to repairs to the road surface? As the heavy goods vehicles only make the potholes bigger and Bromley borough are not interested as it is an unadopted road.
If all the people who use the road, i.e. the dog walkers who turn up in their cars, the tennis players, the weekend football training, the charity events and not forgetting those drivers using the road as a free car park whilst they shop in the high street, were to also to contribute you would all have a decent road to drive or walk down.
However I know that you are not going to throw a pile of money at me and say "Get on with it". But on a more serious note. Please think of the last time that you walked, drove or drove or tried to push a wheelchair or buggy down Express Drive and remember what it was like. If you use our road then please help us by writing to Bromley highways dept., and together we can make them do something about it. After all it is in all our in-terests.!
