FIFTY trees are being planted in Swanley to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee next year.
The town council backed the idea to plant the trees next spring and also have another one planted by the mayor as each year passes.
Councillor Mark Fittock said: "It's a great idea. It's environmentally friendly and something for future generations to appreciate."
The trees are most likely to be planted in Swanley Park. Daffodil bulbs will also be planted in spaces across the town to provide a long-term golden reminder of the year's celebrations.
