The sensational Circus of Horrors show in Croydon next week promises to be a truly memorable experience.
The collection of unusual acts is on at Fairfield's Ashcroft Theatre on Monday and Tuesday, December 3 and 4.
Meet ringmaster Dr Haze, The Wasp Boy who, despite an amazing 18in waist, can swallow five swords simultaneously and swallow a lit neon tube, the contortionist Girl in the Bottle, Gary Stretch, whose rubber-like skin is the stretchiest in the world he holds the record for the most clothes pegs on his face and the Voodoo Acrobats.
Since its conception at the 1995 Glastonbury Festival, the show has performed all over the world as well as at many high-profile events such as the Edinburgh Festival, TV's London's Burning and Prince Charles' 50th birthday party. Many of the acts have appeared on Davina MaCall's Don't Try This At Home.
But if you think this is just a freak show, think again. There is a cast of 27 which contains trapeze artists and acrobats trained and choreographed by Willie Ramsay, head aerial coach at the Millennium Dome and on the recent Tomb Raider film.
Dec 3 & 4, The Circus of Horrors, Ashcroft Theatre, Fairfield Halls, Park Lane, Croydon, 7.45pm, £12-£15, 020 8688 9291.
