Fulham will be hoping to make it four Premiership wins in a row this Saturday when they visit fellow new-boys Bolton Wanderers.

It will be no easy task as Bolton have already beaten Manchester United and Liverpool this season, and drawn at Arsenal and Leeds.

But Fulham are on a high after their 3-1 home victory over Newcastle United last Saturday a result which gave Fulham their fourth top-flight victory and extended the Magpies winless streak in London to 27 matches.

The Whites' goals came from Louis Saha, Sylvain Legwinski and Barry Hayles, while Gary Speed pulled one back for the visitors.

The Toon Army's hero Alan Shearer missed a penalty with 12 minutes remaining.

Former Newcastle midfielder Lee Clark was welcomed by both sets of supporters when he came on as substitute for John Collins, while Magpies manager Bobby Robson who played for and managed Fulham also received a magnificent ovation from the Craven Cottage crowd.

Meanwhile, Fulham Ladies were put through their paces by the French U21 side on Saturday morning, but the Whites came out on top 4-1.

Fulham opened the scoring on 27 minutes through Margunn Haugenes' penalty and Rachel McArthur converted Kristy Moore's excellent cross to send Fulham into the break 2-0 up.

The home side dominated the second half, but it was an own goal by the French which extended Fulham's lead.

France scored from their only chance in the second half, when Fulham defender Lene Terp pulled her hamstring and went down, leaving her French opponent in acres of space to slide the ball past Jody Smith.

But McArthur scored her second goal of the day to make sure of the result.

Manager Gaute Haugenes said: "We learn a lot from playing top international opponents like this and feel our fitness, technique and shape have improved immensely, which gives the players confidence for the important cup matches that await us."

On Sunday, Fulham Ladies travelled to play Queens Park Rangers in the National League South Division and recorded a 14-0 victory.
