A BROMLEY man had to have a testicle removed after a bungling burglar fought him and two friends off before realising he was in the wrong house.

The 25-year-old man, whose name was not released by the police, was sitting talking in a house in Crown Lane with his friends, aged 21 and 29, when the doorbell rang.

One man got up and answered the door, and a second ran through to the hall when he heard sounds of a struggle.

The balaclava-clad intruder fought off the two men with punches and demanded their names while the 25-year-old stood in the entrance to the kitchen.

The burglar, whose balaclava slipped off in the fracas, asked why he was so quiet, and then kicked him in the scrotum.

He herded the group into the sitting room and stood in the doorway. After more fighting, he asked for the house number.

He then announced he was in the wrong house and fled. The man with the injured scrotum later had a testicle removed at Bromley Hospital.

The attacker was white, about 25 years old, 5ft10, stocky and with short blond hair. He wore black jeans and T-shirt with white Nike trainers.

Anyone with information about the incident on November 20, should call the burglary squad on 020 8284 8048.
