FIRE ANNIVERSARY: The 65th anniversary of the Crystal Palace fire will be commemorated by local historian Ian Bevan. Also speaking will be Chris Stone whose grandfather was one of the first firemen to reach the blaze in 1936. FOOTBALL SCHEME: Crystal Palace Football Club is working with the Prince's Trust to run a 12-week scheme, involving community projects, placements and a residential project, to improve job prospects for 16 to 25-year-olds. POLICE MEET: The Beckenham Community Police Working Group will meet in Beckenham on December 4. The group will talk about combating crime and wants as many Beckenham and West Wickham residents to come along as possible. The meeting is being held in the main hall of Bromley Road Infant School at 7.30pm.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: South Bromley HospisCare is to hold an ecumenical service for people to honour a loved one. For a donation, people can dedicate a light on the Tree of Life in the grounds of St Michael's Church, in Crofton Road, Locksbottom, at 4pm on December 2. Call Mary Vigar on 01689 605322.
