Blackheath certainly have a penchant for the letter C as this well-deserved 19-10 victory against Clifton follows wins against Cinderford, Camberley and Colfeians it's a pity there are no more "C teams" in the league!

Clifton took the lead with a penalty, but failed to get in Club's half for the next 25 minutes. Blackheath were creating chances but failing at the final hurdle.

Club's forwards were giving the home side a roasting and from yet another penalty kick to the corner, Jon Griffin chipped ahead for Gary Dutton to score in the corner and put Club deservedly ahead at half-time.

From the kick off, Club immediately increased their lead with a try from Dave Fitzgerald and Griffin kicked the conversion to make it 12-3.

Club all but sewn up the game when, from a scrum on the left, Griffin wriggled his way through and fed the ball to skipper Toby Booth to go over the line and Griffin converted.

Clifton staged a comeback, but great defending and sensible play continued to frustrate the home side, although they did manage a converted try right at the end.

This weekend, Club are at home to league leaders Penzance.

Old Colfeians continued their recent improvement in the league with a fine 26-9 win over Lydney.

For the first half, Colfes had to weather the Lydney pack's weight in scrummage and drives and at times their defence was almost desperate. After 30 minutes, two penalties apiece had been superbly exchanged by Matt Townsend and Lee Johnson respect-ively.

In the 33rd minute, this all changed, when after a dazzling display by the Colfes forwards and backs, full-back Gavin Hurley went over to the posts and Townsend kicked the conversion.

Three minutes later, Colfes' left-winger James Levrington received the ball on the Lydney 10-metre line and managed to beat the defencen to score in the corner, with Townsend again converting.

At the start of the second half, Townsend and Johnson exchanged penalties around the hour-mark to take the score 23-9.

Then, during injury time, Townsend kicked a final penalty to confirm the put the icing on a superb Colfes' performance aainst the fifth-placed side.

On Saturday, Colfes enteratin local rivals Westcombe Park, kick-off is at 2.15pm.

In match littered with mistakes by both sides and decided by goal kicking, it was Charlton Park's Sam Naden who kept his nerve deep into injury time to kick a conversion to ease the home side into the next round of the Kent Knockout Cup, narrowly winning 13-12 against Tonbridge Juddians.

Grant Parker scored the only try of the match, with Neaden converting in the closing stages having earlier kicked two penalties.

Mobility was the winning factor for Shooters Hill as they notched up a convincing win at home to Gravesend.

it was really a forwards' day as the majority of the home side's tries were scored from the pack with Pat beale, Dave Brant, Gareth Edwards and Glen Miller going over. Knox Levanatabua also touched down.

It was always going to be a very difficult Kent Cup match for Brockleians with Sidcup high up in London 3 South East, and Brocks struggling in Kent One as they lost 71-0.

Made worse by having five regular first team players not available and two others injured, Brocks however, battled bravely throughout the game, making several attacking moves that should have led to scores.
