Ryman League Cup Round One (Nov 26)
Yeading 0 Oxford City 1

After a disappointing weekend, losing at home to Oxford City, the Ding got back to winning ways in the cup on Monday, beating Purfleet away from home, writes Tim Fuell.
Claiming their second Premier Division scalp of the season, the Ding went through to Round Two of the Ryman League Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 win. Yeading were under the cosh from the first whistle, but after weathering the early storm, the Ding took the lead following a superb 11th minute counter-attack.
Jason Tucker passed from the centre-circle with pinpoint accuracy to find Errol Telemaque and after two touches the striker drilled his shot inside the far-post. The rest of the half saw Yeading defending with great resolve, frustrating a Purfleet attack who couldn't break them down.
After the break it was end-to-end stuff, although Purfleet still had the majority of possession. Both sides however, could have had at least three goals apiece but for some fine goalkeeping and the base of one post that kept a rasping drive from a Purfleet player out.
At the final whistle the resolute defending and hard work of the whole Yeading side produced a deserved win and the hope for another good draw in the next round.
