For the ardent Dusty Springfield fans that recall the launch of her solo career in 1963, the show at Fairfield Concert Hall on November 18, was a night of true nostalgia, writes Linda Kirby.
Karen Noble was, for the show's duration, A Girl Called Dusty, from her opening number, Going Back to some of the most famous such as the enduring Son of a Preacher Man.
Her resemblance to the icon is striking and was emphasised with the back screen This tribute was strong and precise. Karen's stage movements and gestures mimicked Dusty's perfectly, it was uncanny.
Backing group Paul, Allan, Mark, Sam, Tash and Lisa all played a great part in making this an excellent evening's entertainment. No wonder Karen has such a following.
