Streatham-Croydon 47 bt London Fire Brigade 0
An outstanding performance from scrum-half James Davies laid the foundation for a comfortable victory for Streatham at Frant Road on Saturday.
With hooker Chris Ashton leading the way, the home side dominated at the scrummage and secured sufficient possession in what was a scrappy day in the lineout.
Once again it was the mobility of their pack and speed that gave Streatham the edge.
Fullback Spike Williams opened the scoring after 10 minutes after linking well with Streatham's right wing Paul Smith.
Further tries were added by Rob Berkley, John Smith, Dean Taylor and Grant O'Grady.
A period of sustained pressure from their opponents followed but the Streatham defence held strong.
Dave Walker, Spike Williams and Hugh Mainwaring all added to the scoreline after the break. Dean Taylor continued his good form with the boot by converting five of Streatham's tries. The Thornton Heath side take on Chipstead at Frant Road on Saturday in their push for promotion from Surrey Division 2.
