THE battle to save Harefield Hospital is going well according to Jean Brett, chairwoman of the Heart of Harefield campaign group.
Mrs Brett has told the Times that supporters are flocking to save the healthcare unit and the group is preparing for a judicial review on the decision.
"With its excellent reputation, the hospital is a jewel in the crown of the NHS," she said. "More and more people are showing their disgust at plans to close it."
After the closure decision was made on October 8, Heart of Harefield, backed by MPs John Randall, John McDonnell and John Wilkinson, pledged to fight until it was overturned.
Mrs Brett added that the hospital has been made aware of campaigners' plans. "It is clear they are scared, especially as Mark Taylor, the chief executive of Brompton and Harefield Trust has ordered the removal of our leaflets from the hospital.
"We have a right to campaign for the next nine years
. The whole area is blessed to have such a wonderful hospital and it is an honour to fight to save it. Saving it will also tell the government to keep its hands off Mount Vernon, which is next in line."
All donations towards a judicial review should be sent to Heart of Harefield, The Treasurer Campaign Office, 12 High Street, Harefield, UB9 6BU.
