CHILDREN as young as three could find themselves on a secret police database if they behave badly or commit minor misdemeanours.
Brent is one of 11 London boroughs chosen to pioneer a scheme by the Met Police which is designed to identify youths at risk of being lured into the criminal underworld from an early age.
Ian Blair, deputy commissioner of the Met, said the scheme had been inspired by the tragic case of Damilola Taylor, 10, in Southwark. Several youngsters have now been charged with his murder.
Children involved in cheekiness, vandalism or causing nuisance will now be monitored in the classroom and on the streets by special police squads working with social services. Their names will be put on a confidential register.
