A HARD-working teenager turned tragedy into a blessing when she helped raise hundreds of pounds for charity.
When Holly Poore's grandad died of a heart attack, the 15-year-old decided to host a charity Pop Stars night in aid of The British Heart Foundation.
With help from her fellow pupils and teachers at Magna Carta School in Thorpe Road, Staines she was able to stage an extravaganza in October which drew an audience of 200 people.
And on Friday she sighed with satisfaction after presenting a cheque for £500 to the foundation. She said: "It was hard work but we all loved it. We were delighted to raise so much for such a worthy cause."
