SCENES of merriment in a Mottingham pub raised almost £3,000 for charity.
The highlight of the Children in Need celebration at the Prince of Wales, in Mottingham Road, was when 40-year-old Robert Sowden had 12 years of hair growth cut off in just under 10 minutes.
He raised £1,257, which his employers will double, and a further £460 was raised by staff and regulars in the pub.
Landlady Jayne Goldsbrough said: "It was a great night. I had my hair dyed green and purple and the barmaid, Wendy, had hers orange. We were rushed off our feet but it was fantastic."
