Hertford Town 0 Hendon 3
Isthmian League Cup first round
by DAVID BALLHEIMER
Hendon enjoyed a relatively comfortable passage into the second round against their Ryman League Division Three opponents on Tuesday.
The visitors went ahead after 20 minutes when Simon Clarke rose at the far post and headed the ball back into the path of Joe Nartey, who prodded it past keeper Chris Fitkin.
During a poor spell from Hendon, keeper David Hook made two fine saves before Byron Bubb stretched their lead after 62 minutes.
Clarke delivered a 35-yard slide rule pass to Bubb, who held off a defender and then whipped in a powerful shot past the keeper.
Hendon's third goal came in stoppage time, when substitute Dale Binns ended a run with pass to Nartey, who picked his spot for his second goal.
HENDON: Hook, Woolner (Watson 18, (Haule 62)), Clarke, Burgess, Towler, Pickett, Bubb (Binns 78), Bates, Nartey, Ruggles, Yates.
