Regarding the report of Alan Williams' acceptance of the petition for Barnet Football Club (Gunners boss Wenger backs Bees stadium bid', Times Group, November 22).
So, Barnet Football Club, knowing that its ridiculous application for the encroachment of Green Belt land and the enormous increase of noise, pollution and traffic congestion has inflamed the rightful anger and opposition of residents, it has been forced to scour the country with its heavily-biased petition to wheedle the backing of thousands of totally uninvolved strangers.
What a futile exercise.
It must be very unsure of the validity of its proposition to have touted this missive over such a large area to gain the support of those, who, not only have been gullible enough to endorse this prime example of PR gobbledegook, but of course, live sufficiently far away ever to be affected by this needless threat to our environment.
