THE News Shopper's appeal to name the 16-year-old who murdered a Plumstead man with a nine-inch kitchen knife has been rejected by the judge.
The paper appealed in writing against Judge Anne Godard QC's decision to impose a Section 39 order protecting identification of witnesses.
Under the order, no under-18s involved in the case can be identified, including Terry Booker's murderer, who was sentenced to life imprisonment, on September 20. Like Mr Booker's family, The News Shopper believed this was unfair.
Terry, 19, of Vicarage Road, Plumstead, was stabbed in the chest by the 16-year-old on November 14, 2000.
