Dag & Red0

(Nationwide Conference)s=10THE DAGGERS lost their top spot on Saturday when they travelled to Doncaster and came back with just a point, allowing Boston to leapfrog them in the Conference.o

s=9In all fairness, Daggers did well to hold on as they played the entire second half with ten men after Lee Goodwin was dismissed for his second bookable offence just before the interval.o

Mark Stein and Junior McDougald worked hard up up front searching for a winning goal and also taking some of the pressure off the Daggers defence.

Doncaster's Neil Campbell went close in the 12th minute with his effort just over the bar and just a minute later, the home side had a narrow escape when a McDougald shot forced the Doncaster keeper to pull off a diving save to keep the game level.

It was McDougald causing all the problems for the home defence again in the 25th minute as his shot found the side netting.

Goodwin's first booking came on the half hour when the referee adjudged him to have caught Neil Campbell as they both tried to gain possession of a loose ball.

The Daggers best chance came when Mark Stein hit the cross bar, while in the Daggers goal, Tony Roberts had an outstanding game blocking every attempt that Doncaster threw at him.

Goodwin then received his second yellow at the end of the first half which ended with six yellow cards and 53 minutes on the clock.

The loss of a man meant that Daggers had to spend the second half defending, and could only attack Rovers on the break.

The Daggers class really shone through as they more than coped with Doncasters attacks which they threw at their visitors.

A mistake from Mark Smith gave Rovers the last goal scoring opportunity of the game but Roberts once again was unfazed by any attempt that the home side mustered.

Dagenham will be calling on their fans to give all of their vocal, and of course the lone trumpeting, support when they travel to Exeter City on Saturday December 8 for their FA Cup second round tie.

The game will be kicking off at 5.45pm due to being televised live on Sky TV.

The club looked into the possibility of chartering a train, yet the unavailability meant that this plan could not go ahead.

Due to this, the Football Club and Supporters Club have therefore agreed to subsidise supporters coach travel to the game. The cost of return coaches for Supporters Club members will be only £5 and for non-members £8.
