The writing is on the wall for businesses which fly-post around Lambeth.

Companies and clubs which promote themselves with illegal posters have been given a final warning by Lambeth Council in a bid to crack down on the increasing problem.

Local firms are being written to via the Town Centre Forums to remind them the practice is illegal, and efforts are being stepped up to seek costs from companies for the removal of posters.

A new approach has also been employed to counter the problem which targets hoardings, bus-stops, fences, walls and shop fronts. Some street columns and bins are being treated with a special anti-flyposting coating, and a written assurance that they will not fly-post is now required from businesses before a public entertainment licence is granted.
