The International Day of Disabled People is to be celebrated at an event in Brixton next month.
Greater London Action on Disability (GLAD) has arranged a forum at the Conference Centre at 336 Brixton Road on Monday.
The forum, which is organised in partnership with the Disability Rights Commission (DRC), will investigate the work of the DRC and look at ways of improving its service. It will examine the question of how effective their efforts can be without comprehensive and enforceable legislation.
The event runs from 10am to 4pm, and is targeted at disability, voluntary and statutory organisations, and local authorities, as well as individuals and members of other groups. The event is free to GLAD member organisations and individual members.
For more information call Janet Nixon at GLAD on 020 7326 4554.
