BRIGHT students at Woodford County High School, Woodford Green, came top of the class in an economics competition.
It beat off a dozen other schools to win the regional heat of the Target 2.5 competition, run by the Bank of England.
Pupils Leticia Bioh, Sarah Lewis, Malini Maidoo and Payal Sharma were representing the school.
Ilford County High School was second, and Bancroft's School, Woodford Green, was second with pupils Owen Rodwell, David Ossack, Sonya Bhousle and Richard Copey.
The event got sixth formers to look at the national inflation rate and tested their skills and abilities in predicting what might be the case in the future. They had to decide what to do if they were in charge of the UK economy.
Each school had to give a presentation on what policies they would follow and why they would decide on a certain course of action.
Pupils said it enhanced their knowledge of the inflation rate, improved skills and enjoyed hearing about ideas and policies from other schools.
