Budding entrepreneurs from all over the county picked up top tips on kick-starting burgeoning companies in a Business Link Surrey event, this month.
Organised in conjunction with the Royal Holloway College, the Fast Track Entrepreneurs event laid out the range of services on offer to start-up companies.
The Link's business development manager Sally Goodsell outlined its Fast Track scheme, which includes advice on business plans, marketing, IT, financial projections, accommodation and introductions to venture capitalists.
She was joined by David Springall, a former Royal Holloway student and entrepreneur who had been through the process with his firm Yospace, now a successful hi-tech company.
He said: "It's a risky time for new investment at the moment. Persevere we went to 50 venture capital meetings. If you are new to fund raising seek advice. Business Link Surrey is one organisation to go to."
The college's head of research and enterprise Dr Ben Ferrari spoke about the closer links it was forging with the worlds of commerce and the range of services it offers itself.
