WEST Hatch Blades fencing team rewarded their coach's decision to come out of retirement with a convincing win over Forest School.
Ray Bettenson, who hasn't been involved in the sport for 20 years was persuaded by his son Richard to make a come back and has worked wonders with the Blades.
In only their second appearance together the four Blades fencers completely dominated proceedings at the Wanstead school.
And Richard, 15, proved learnt a thing or two from his dad, winning all but one of his eight bouts.
The team which secured 12-4 and 13-3 victories in both events also consisted of Rhian Owen, 12, Victoria James, 16, and Nick Smith, 12, who despite a cold fought on bravely to win six out of his eight bouts.
