Striker Neil Shipperley says Wimbledon must start winning now or forget about challenging for promotion.
A late goal gave Wolves a 1-0 victory to inflict the Dons third defeat of the season at Selhurst Park Dean Sturridges strike eight minutes from time saw the Dons slip to 15th in Division One.
But Shipperley believes that is a false position. We are certainly good enough to be up there but we need a few wins the sooner the better, he said.
The quality of the teams looking for promotion is very average. There didnt seem to be a gap between Wolves and ourselves even though they spent £9m in the summer.
We need to start fulfilling our potential. The fans want to see us do well and we want to do well.
The Dons visit Coventry City on Saturday, eager to avenge the a 1-0 home defeat by the Sky Blues last month.
We owe them one from when they beat us down here, added Shipperley. They have quite a few players, who we will have to keep an eye on, such as David Thompson, but I think our squad is as good as theirs.
Dons will travel to Highfield Road without new signing Hakan Mild.
The 30-year-old Swede limped off against Wolves with a groin injury and will be out for three weeks.
Michael Hughes came on as substitute for Mild last Saturday but boss Terry Burton must decide whether to recall Andy Roberts for the trip to Coventry.
Roberts, whose contract runs out at the end of the season, has been left in the cold by Burton since Milds arrival.
l Wimbledon Ladies beat QPR 4-0 in the National Premier League at Kingstonian on Saura Smith, Michelle Riley, Julie Kirk and Sandra Hughes scored the goals for the Dons, who are at Berkhamsted on Sunday.
