Sutton youngster Katie Dean wrapped up a great judo season by winning a bronze medal in the British National Championships at Crystal Palace last weekend.
The 11-year-old who was representing the Southern Area in the over-44kg girls' category beat the Scottish competitor in the first round.
Despite losing her second round fight to the western area player in a very closely fought battle, Katie went on to beat other players from the north west and midland areas in the repercharge to win the bronze medal.
This latest success takes the youngster's current medal tally to 16 this year, including seven golds, four silvers and five bronze medals.
Coach Andrew Ede, who trains Katie at Cheam Leisure Centre, said he was extremely proud of her performance.
