A motion put forward by Judy Miller of Sutton and Surrey, that women bowlers be given permission to wear trousers for outdoor play, has been carried at the AGM of the English women's bowling association, writes Geoff Martyr.
Judy has been defeated in her previous attempts to get trousers approved.
The ladies now await comments and rulings from clubs and counties around the country.
Meanwhile, the English Bowling association has reported a 3,832 fall in membership and a 4,696 fall (3.24 per cent) in the entry for the national championships.
Bill Hatto was complimented on his effort at Potters which brought in funds total in more than £8,000 and he has been nominated for the national selection panel.
Worthing has been nominated as the proposed venue for the championships and senior internationals from June 30 to July 4.
