Moved by press reports that the Haven House children's hospice faces eviction from the White House, rock band Glorious has planned a charity gig on Friday, November 23.
Steve Garton, the landlord of the Three Blackbirds in Leyton High Road, is making the pub available free of charge for the occasion.
The band is keen to raise lots of money to help the Haven House Foundation raise the £280,000 it needs to pay Waltham Forest Council the balance of its lease on the Woodford Green mansion.
Admission to the charity night will be free, but the audience will be asked to make voluntary donations.
Band members hope the gig will inspire other East London bands to dedicate a night to the cause.
Previous shows at the Three Blackbirds have proved so popular with Saturday night crowds that Glorious now has a regular monthly booking with shows due for November 10 and December 22.
The band specialises in playing members' own arrangements of popular rock music from the 1960s to the present day, as well as original songs like Little Lost Sometimes, Darling Me, Skyliner and Still.
