United By One, is presenting A Godly
Affair at Purley Way's Hilton Hotel on Friday, November 30 to celebrate the launch of a local gospel R&B group's debut album Take it to the Streets writes Angeline Albert.
Gospel group IDMC, short for Individuals Dedicated to the Ministry of Christ, will be performing their album and current promo single Lift Your Head Up on the night, a song which is currently getting a lot of air play on gospel shows such as Premier, Talkgospel, Fusion and Choice 96.9 FM.
IDMC is a choir of 18 people led by Thornton Heath resident, John Fisher. Their sounds are R&B influenced and characterised by uplifting inspirational lyrics.
IDMC have worked their way up and have influenced the praise & worship scene within the Church.
IDMC are currently looking to get the single released next year with four remixes that will cover R&B, soul and garage.
Gospel hiphop band GreenJade be performing some of their songs and DJ El Nino, will be mixing gospel styles.
Three young Christians took it upon themselves to spread a good vibe around the borough by setting up United By One to highlight rising talents from the gospel scene. A series of gospel events known as A Godly Affair were held by United By One at the Fairfield Hotel over the past year.
DJ James Freeman will be showing off his talents on the night United By One's gospel dance group will be offering their gospel salsa workshop from 8:30pm until 9pm.
