OSCAR winning actress turned politician Glenda Jackson took time out from parliament to welcome Charlton Toy Library to its permanent home.
Glenda, who lives in Blackheath, met some of the youngsters benefiting from the toy library which caters for 800 under-fives and its membership is one of the largest in London.
The library rented rooms in Charlton House, until last year, when a £169,745 grant from the National Lotteries Charity Board gave it the cash to renovate part of the house for its permanent base.
Glenda Jackson is now an MP for Hampstead and Highgate.
She won two Oscars for best actress for Women in Love and A Touch of Class in the 1970s and also ran for Mayor of London in 2000.
