Fulham's 29-year-old striker Barry Hayles has signed a one-year extension to his current contract that will keep him at Craven Cottage until the end of June 2004.
Hayles moved to the west London club for £2 million from Bristol Rovers in November 1998 and after a relatively slow start to his Cottage career has become a favourite among the fans.
Hayles began his playing career as a full-back with Conference side Stevenage, but soon switched to playing up front and has never looked back.
He has scored five goals for Fulham in the Premiership still a few short of the 19 goals he scored in all competitions last season.
