Tooting & Mitcham United manager Ian Hazel is looking for his men to take their good league form into the FA Umbro Trophy tomorrow.
The Terrors, promoted last season, are eighth in Ryman Division One. Now Hazel is looking for Tooting to launch a good cup run at third-from-bottom Bromley tomorrow.
"I think we can do very well," he said. "The Trophy is the next best thing to the FA Cup.
"I was disappointed to have gone out of that but this is a good opportunity to get into the next round.
"It won't be easy. Bromley have some good players and their strikers Dean Thomas and Carl Bartley will be a handful.
"We have to contain them. We played them at the start of the season and beat them 2-0."
Hazel is satisfied with how his players have adapted to life in Ryman Division One.
"The season has gone well particularly when you bear in mind the other promoted sides Windsor & Eton and Barking are the bottom two.
"It's a good achievement to be where we are but I still reckon we can do a lot better."
Tooting have doubts over Mickey Rootes, Durrand Jemmott, Luke Ferguson, and Danny Teasdale while Dean Forbes and Michael Brady are suspended.
Despite a late goal for Slough, cancelling out a deflected Mark McGibbon free kick, Hazel was pleased with the way Tooting played in last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Slough.
"Slough were exactly what I thought they were going to be," he added. "It was disappointing to lose a goal near the end of the game but I was pleased with the players.
"There are five successive away games coming up and it's important we carry on as we have been."
Tooting and Uxbridge face a replay in the Ryman League Cup after drawing their first round match 1-1 at Horton Road on Tuesday. In an even game, the Terrors took the lead on the hour from the penalty spot through Nigel Webb.
Dean Wordsworth levelled two minutes from time.
The date of the replay at Sandy Lane has still to be confirmed.
l Tooting's reserves went down 4-1 at Walton & Hersham in the Suburban League Cup despite a goal from Jason Black. They are at home to Carshalton tomorrow.
