I thought our Ryman League cup defeat by Worthing at Colston Avenue on Tuesday night was a better performance than the first match a few days before.

There were a lot of kids playing in the team. They all did better with the four players, than those who played in the first game.

I will give players a chance if they are good enough. Everyone in the dressing room certainly knew my feelings after the game on Saturday.

Scott Kinch was one of the players used on Tuesday night. Scott is a player we've been working on during the summer.

He's been playing reserve team football. His chance will come as well. It will be up to him to take it.

Taking chances is something I've said before is a reason why we are not higher in the table.

Healthy

The club is in a heathly position financially. We are not too far away in the league table and will not give up trying to get promotion.

Dean Thomas and Wade Falana will give us another option when they return from their loan spells.

Dean returns on November 8. Bromley have improved since he's gone there and are starting to get results. And Wade is in his last week at Tonbridge Angles.

This weekend we play Newport IOW in the Second Round of the FA Trophy.

The furthest I ever went as a player was to the quarter-finals with Nuneaton, before we lost to a team up north.

And as a manager we reached the last sixteen, five years ago, when I was at Dulwich, but we lost to St Leonard's.

It's the biggest cup competition at non-league level in Britain and it would be great for the club if we went on a run.

We've already played St Leonard's in the first round of the competition.

To win tomorrow we really need to take our chances.
