BHC ladies' 1st XI travelled to Old Loughtonians Hockey Club, in Essex, on Saturdyam and returned with a fine 2-1 win.
Playing on a water-based surface, which is not the usual for BBHC, the ball was slightly harder to control but they adapted quickly and produced some great passing.
BBHC went ahead after a great run from Sue Moore earned a penalty corner. The short-corner routine was completed with a cracking strike from Julie Somers-Bayley.
They doubled their lead with a great strike from Moore, and although Old Loughts pulled a goal back with 10 minutes left, BBHC held their lead.
Other BBHC results: Ladies 2nds 2 Marden Russets 1; Mens 2nds 1 Holcombe 2.
