Alyson Parlett continued this year's magnificent road-
running form into the cross-country season.
The Bexley Athletics Club member (right) was the third-placed Kent veteran in the
female section of the Reebok International Cross-Country, held in Margate.
Alyson also finished in a creditable 26th place and was seventh veteran home in
the London & Southern Counties Champion-ships at Parliament Hill Fields.
Her creditable placing in cross-country follows her excellent road-running season which has seen her perform with distinction in a number of competitive events.
Alyson's achievements include winning the female events in the Sharon Norbury five-mile race, Maidstone Half-Marathon, Shornwood Multi-
terrain and Sittingbourne
10-mile races, She was also second in the Harvel five-mile race and third in the four 10-kilometre events Myra Garrett, Lordswood, Cliffe Woods and Red Lion.
Alyson also had wins in
the female veterans' class in the Dartford Half-Marathon, Eridge Park 10-mile race, plus the Ashford Quest and Wilmington 10km events.
Her road-racing season culminated when she was chosen for the Kent County women's team competing in the National 10km Championship, held
at Cheltenham during September.
Alyson's next main objective is the London Marathon.
